1 – INTRODUCTION & ORIENTATION
You will begin your individually-tailored program with an induction process. This will outline; what to expect over your personalised two-year program, get to know our business and connect you with your peers. This training includes helping you understand all our internal processes and procedures.
We understand that stepping into your first career role is an adjustment, so our onboarding process is designed to run at a supportive and sustainable pace, so you can feel secure in your skills, learn step by step and not be thrown into the deep end!
This begins with shadowing with your allocated mentor, then, with supervision, you will gradually build up your own case load at a steady and comfortable pace as your skills develop and confidence strengthens.
2 – INDIVIDUAL GOAL SETTING & PLAN
Together, we will create a goal-oriented plan, tailored to YOU and your career interests. We will map out what your individual program will look like.
3 – WEEKLY CHECK IN WITH ALLOCATED MENTOR
This scheduled weekly one-on-one catch up meeting is a fantastic opportunity to divulge clinical questions, check in on your wellbeing, provide personal support, and share any new ideas. This is a formal supervision session dedicated to supporting you, your well-being and your career growth.
4 – PEER SUPPORT NETWORK
You will have regular ongoing opportunities to learn from your colleagues and will be supported by the entire team.
- FORTNIGHTLY TEAM MEETINGS where you will meet to discuss complex case scenarios, ask questions, share ideas, new learnings, and collaborate to support each other.
- MONTHLY GRADUATES GROUP MEETINGS. This is where you can catch up with your fellow graduates, share those exciting new experiences and (possibly nervous new feelings!) in a safe space amongst peers.
- DAILY SUPPORT FROM DEDICATED CHAT GROUP. Having access to our online team communication platform means asking your peers a question is just a click away, with fast responses. This is a great tool for when you need an immediate response!
5 – CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Each month you will undertake a clinical seminar on a different topic related to best practices in allied health including managing your mental health and work life balance, working with clients with challenging behaviours, understanding the NDIS and career development pathways.
6 – VARIED CLINICAL EXPOSURE
We strive to provide you with a wide and varied caseload of clients across your two-year program so you can really get a taste of all types of clients and scenarios and discover where your passion lies.
7 – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We are firm believers in the importance of life-long learning. You will have access to $1000 external professional development fund and up to 5 days paid study leave.
8 – MID POINT CHECK IN & CAREER DEVELOPMENT COACHING
Wow, how has a whole year passed already? At this point we look back and see how the first year went. We will address any challenges you feel you’re facing and revisit our goal setting plan from the start of your program, to see how you are tracking how we can adjust our collaborative plan to suit you.
By now you will have a taste of the varied roles available to you, and it is the time to start thinking about your next steps at HAHS.
Where would you like your career to head after your graduate program concludes?
Do you want to continue your career down a clinical pathway or does developing your operational skills feel more like you? Is leadership in your sights?
Your mentor will work with you to make plans for your continuing career pathway.
